The game is in storage but does not show up
Low risk✓ ProvenWhat you see
- Your game backup is in storage, but ShadowMountPlus never lists it.
What it means
ShadowMountPlus scans set folders for your own game backups and registers what it finds. If the copy is in storage but never shows up, the scanner did not find it or could not read it.
What to do
Check the scan paths
If your config has at least one scanpath= line, only those custom paths are used. Make sure the game is inside one of them.
With no scanpath lines, use a default folder
Without scanpath= lines, version 1.7 looks in default places such as /data/homebrew, /data/etaHEN/games, the homebrew and etaHEN/games folders on /mnt/ext0 and /mnt/ext1, and the USB drives at /mnt/usb0 to /mnt/usb7. Make sure the drive with the game is connected and mounted.
Check the scan depth
With scan_depth=1 (the default), only first-level subfolders are checked. A game one folder deeper needs scan_depth=2.
Check the folder structure
A game folder needs sce_sys/param.json or sce_sys/param.sfo inside it.
A game folder also needs eboot.bin
Besides the param file, a game folder needs eboot.bin or eboot2.bin.
Know which files are images
The image formats are .ffpkg (UFS, the recommended default), .exfat (only for titles that need external-drive compatibility), and .ffpfs and .ffpfsc (both experimental). A .pkg is an install package, not one of these images.
Read the log
Debug logging is on by default and writes to /data/shadowmount/debug.log.
Wait if the copy is still being written
If the log shows source not stable yet, the copy has not finished. Wait for it to finish.
Wait for the next scan
A full scan runs every scan_interval_seconds, which is 15 seconds by default.
As a check, try a copy you know works
Put one copy that has worked before in the same folder. If that one shows up, the problem is the other copy, not the scanner.
When to stop
Renaming does not fix it
Renaming the file does not fix content or a structure that is invalid.
Do not format the drive over this
A scan that finds nothing is not a reason to format the drive. Converting the copy to another format does not guarantee that every game will work either. ShadowMountPlus recommends .ffpkg (UFS) for normal use and keeps exFAT for compatibility.
