7.00 to 13.60
Public jailbreakChoose your jailbreak method
Both get you to the same jailbroken console. Pick how you want to start it.
- Browser (Relapse)Open the exploit page in the PS5 browser. Nothing to install; repeat it after every restart. Start here: the other methods are set up from a console jailbroken this way.See the steps ▶
- Y2JB Autoloader: jailbreak through the YouTube appOpen the YouTube app and the kernel exploit and your payloads load by themselves, with no browser. One-time setup on a console that is already jailbroken.See the steps ▶
Read the risks first
Before you begin, read the risks page. It explains how to disable automatic updates and what to avoid while jailbroken.
What you need
- A PS5 on firmware 7.00 to 13.60. If you do not know your version, use the tool on the home page.
- A Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection to load the exploit page.
Step by step
Disable automatic updates
Follow the instructions on the risks page to turn off both "Download Update Files Automatically" and "Install Update Files Automatically". If you skip this step, an update can overwrite your firmware while the console is in rest mode.
Sign out of PSN
Go to the account settings and sign out of PlayStation Network before running the exploit.
- Settings
- Users and Accounts
- Other
- Sign Out
Do not sign back in while jailbroken. Staying signed in risks a console or account ban.
Set the DNS on the console
Change the DNS server so the console connects to the exploit host instead of Sony's servers. Go to:
- Settings
- Network
- Settings
- Set Up Internet Connection
Select your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection, press Options, then choose Advanced Settings. Set:
- DNS Settings: Manual
- Primary DNS:
45.56.67.85 - Secondary DNS:
0.0.0.0
Press OK and test the connection. It should connect to the internet. If it does not, double-check the DNS address.
Open the PS5 web browser
The PS5 does not have a browser icon on the home screen. Open it through:
- Settings
- User's Guide, Health & Safety, and Other Information
- User's Guide
This opens the exploit page directly because the DNS from step 3 redirects the User's Guide URL to the exploit host.
Go to the exploit page
If the page did not load automatically via DNS, navigate manually to the Relapse exploit host page. The current URL is in the Relapse README on GitHub. Always get it from the official repository — never trust links from other sources.
Run the exploit
Press the button on the exploit page and wait. It can take a few seconds to a couple of minutes.
- If the browser stalls: reload the page and try again.
- If the console freezes or crashes: hold the power button until the console beeps twice to force a shutdown, wait a few seconds, turn it back on and start again from Step 4. See console frozen for more details.
It may take several attempts. This is normal — the exploit depends on timing and does not succeed every time.
Confirm the jailbreak is active
When the exploit succeeds, a notification or a homebrew menu appears on screen. The console is now jailbroken for this session.
If nothing happens and the browser returns to the exploit page, the attempt failed silently. Reload and try Step 5 again.
Not persistent
This jailbreak lasts only until you turn off or restart the console. After every reboot you must run the exploit again from Step 4. Never update the firmware.
Stay offline after jailbreaking
Do not sign back in to PSN while jailbroken. Only reconnect to PSN after you restart the console normally without running the exploit.
